Kitchen Assistant/ Cook – Part Time

 

Duties for this role will include:-

  • Work within the Hospitality team in the kitchen and restaurant as directed by the Hospitality Supervisor or Hospitality Manager.
  • Provide well presented, appetising meals and snacks from the restaurant menu, managing and delegating Hospitality Assistants to achieve this.
  • Provide excellent customer service, adhering and contributing to the highest possible cleaning standards and health & safety standards.
  • Taking responsibility of the kitchen and restaurant operation in the absence of the Hospitality Supervisor for short periods of time (if applicable).
  • Training other staff members how to use equipment in accordance with the safe systems at work.
  • Maintaining records in relation to Health & Safety, Food Safety, Allergens and other relevant policy and regulation.
  • Carrying out cleaning tasks independently, delegating cleaning tasks and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and restaurant.
  • Working in accordance with the COSHH system and COSHH Policy at all times.
  • Handling and resolving complaints professionally.
  • Training and supporting new members of staff and being actively involved in the induction of new staff members.
  • Attend and contribute positively to team meetings.
  • Responsible for stock rotation and stock control including checking use by dates and the ordering of food stocks.

  • To be aware of your personal responsibilities regarding the Health and Safety at Work Act, maintaining safe working practices for self and others and promote a positive safety culture. Ensure the Associations Health and Safety policy and all relevant related policies, are adhered to in all aspects of your work.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, being polite, respectful and courteous at all times.
  • Making the best use of resources; time, people and finances. The ability to initiate and support change as required. Continually striving to improve work processes in line with own role and business needs.

16 hours a week – £9.91ph

Work to a rota to provide 7 day cover, 365 days of the year

Duties for this role will include:-

  • General day to day accounts for the business
  • Receiving service related calls
  • Processing of purchase ledger invoices & credit notes
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Preparation of supplier invoices for payment processing
  • Filing of documents
  • Assistance with the cashless processing for customers
  • Assistance with the preparation of customer Agreements/Contracts
  • General administration and other office duties as required

As and when required additional duties to cover colleagues will include:-

Sales ledger – Managing sales invoice processing & credit control

Receiving incoming telephone calls & taking wholesale orders.

Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Organised and methodical
  • A good eye for detail
  • Experience using Sage
  • Good administration and IT skills
  • Microsoft Excel essential
  • Data Entry

Monday to Friday – 8.30am to 5.00pm (incl. ½ hour unpaid break)

Salary: £24,000 to £26,000 Subject to experience
